Mission Statement

Our mission is simple: To save species and in the process, save ourselves.

Saving Species

Wildlife at Heart is designed for members who “heart” wildlife and want to learn more about the species they love in a fun, and dare we say it – wild environment. We want our community of wildlife enthusiasts to understand species through stimulating weekly thought questions, connections with other members, and opportunities to interface with experts. In learning more about their favorite endangered species, members will be inspired to help by taking conservation efforts, donating monetary gifts to dedicated charities, participating in citizen science opportunities or even writing letters to politicians on their behalf.

Saving Ourselves

Bonus! Helping endangered species helps us too!

Making the planet better for the wildlife we love means we have a better Earth to inhabit as well. But our favorite endangered species give us back so much more – we also benefit by learning how to be better humans by following their lead. Every species — including humans — has a unique way of expressing emotions and intelligence. Some species are known to prioritize play, even as adults. (A real role model for our site!) Other species share their good fortune when they have a bounty of food, while some wildlife allow themselves to express their joy and sorrow openly rather than stifling it. And one species even shows us how being more tolerant of one another can lead to a more peaceful society. Who wouldn’t want to adopt these characteristics? And so, by saving species, we save ourselves by both improving our planet and learning the life lessons they teach us.

We hope you’ll join us on this epic, wild journey to save species and save ourselves.
